At ACT for Autism Australia the vision is simple: that those living with an autism spectrum disorder diagnosis are supported to reach their potential.

The majority of our staff are neurodivergent or care for autistic family members and we are passionate about being part of a team that provides ethical and neuro-affirming services using a collaborative and evidence-based approach.

Our society deserves support through education, science and responsible journalism to increase Autism Awareness and Autism Acceptance. Individuals on the spectrum and their families deserve access to specialist services that support functional skill building, social participation, safety, communication development and healthy relationships within their home, school and community.

It is important that professional teams work alongside individuals, their families and care givers so that a consistent, individual approach is developed, based on positive, proactive and evidence-based strategies. Autism spectrum disorder is a permanent neurodevelopmental disability, and is different for every individual. An individual’s capacity may fluctuate across their lifetime, and we believe that collaboration, communication and consultation are essential features of effective services which will always prioritise a rights-based team approach.
