About Me
My name is Oliver, and I’m a passionate, creative, and reflective pre-service teacher committed to building inclusive and engaging learning environments where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to grow. I enjoy designing curriculum-aligned lessons that are both meaningful and imaginative—whether it’s using programs like ScratchJr to explore digital technologies or embedding storytelling into early years learning through play.
I enjoy learning about child development, inclusive education, educational technologies, and ways to integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives meaningfully into the classroom. Beyond the classroom, I’m a storyteller at heart. I love fantasy, mythology, and roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons, where I can explore creativity, character design, and world-building. I also enjoy spending time in nature, going on beach trips, and connecting with people through shared stories and experiences. Whether it’s in teaching or life, I’m driven by curiosity, compassion, and a desire to make a positive impact.
What are some of my strengths and hobbies?
I’d say my biggest strengths include that i’m adaptable, resilient and tech savvy. I am a strong communicator who has attention for detail. I am dedicated and committed person.
Some of my hobbies include playing Dungeons & Dragons, going on beach trips, creative writing and storytelling, exploring educational technology, and personal and professional development.
What do I enjoy learning about?
I am a creative and reflective educator who enjoys designing engaging, curriculum-aligned learning experiences that support all students. I am passionate about early childhood development and love exploring how young children learn through play and everyday experiences. I value inclusive education and am committed to supporting diverse learners, including neurodivergent students, through thoughtful differentiation and collaboration. I am also deeply interested in how digital technologies like ScratchJr and Inquisitive can enhance teaching and learning.
Why do I like supporting children with an autism diagnosis and their families?
I like supporting children with an autism diagnosis and their families because I believe in creating inclusive, respectful environments where every child can thrive. I’m passionate about understanding each child as an individual—recognising their strengths, interests, and unique ways of engaging with the world. I enjoy learning how to adapt my teaching to meet their needs, whether that involves visual supports, predictable routines, or sensory-sensitive strategies. I value collaboration with families because they offer deep insight into their child’s experiences, and I want them to feel heard, supported, and included in their child’s educational journey. Supporting autistic children brings me a sense of purpose, as I see how small adjustments and genuine understanding can make a big difference in their learning, confidence, and well-being.
